The crowning glory of a “High End - High Tech” rental has gotta be the tv, right? Right! We also wanted to enable multi player video game sessions so getting an additional tv for the living room was inevitable.
We decided on a Samsung 85” 8K massive tv. The added resolution over 4k wasn’t just for the WOW factor but it made sitting closer to it possible, you gotta get really close to see the pixels on 8k. There aren’t any movies out in 8k yet but there are some videos on youtube and I also got an 8k capable phone and camera to create custom content for it. With the right content the TV really does impress and any movie nerd will absolutely LOVE to re-watch their favorites on this display. It’s not just the tv, the surround system, the comfortable couch, the video games, the music - but the whole experience that really makes it unique. After going back to watch a movie at the theater - it just doesn’t quite compare. I honestly spent most of the movie thinking I would have enjoyed it better watching it at the cabin. For me, it’s not just the next best thing to watching a movie at a movie theater - it’s actually better.
The Vizio installed on teh wall next to it is no slouch either. It’s used to watch the security cameras that cover both properties or when you want to play a multiplayer video game at the same time, from the same room. It’s yet another win for the Luvsac couch - you can re-configure it for a two or even three player session! The plan was to have a 3D enabled projector for the left side wall, but I guess we can’t have it all. But you can!
