Project Alcove

High Tech Rental Cabin in the heart of Big Bear Lake

Project Alcove is our high-tech rental experience in a convenient and private location in Big Bear Lake, California. About a 10min walk to Lake Access and 5 min drive to the village. 20-30min to anywhere else in Big Bear.

This cabin is outfitted with the latest and greatest in modern home automation and multimedia tech. Besides all the cool stuff inside is an exclusive side yard with over 5000 sqft of snow play and sledding area. A backyard with a jacuzzi and hanging chairs. Two gas fire pits, umbrellas, an observation deck with a 7’ bean bag to watch the stars. A VR, gaming, movie & music lover's paradise!

The space

The cabin has an open space for the living room and kitchen with the bathroom and two bedrooms all to one side. The larger bedroom has a motorized and vibrating Split King Bed that can have its softness level preselected to your liking. A 55" 3D curved OLED enables some of the best 3D movie watching available w/ a growing 3D movie library to choose from.

The second bedroom has a queen Murphy bed so you can make it into a comfortable bedroom or a place to work remote with a retractable wall desk. This room is also set up to use 3 available Quest 2 VR headsets or to play on one of the 4 Xbox s to enable multi-player gaming. There is also an electronic piano and a guitar.

The Livingroom setup has a Lovesac couch that can be arranged to be a Cal King bed or other available configurations such as theater mode or multi-player mode which lets you play side by side.

There are two TV’s in the Livingroom: A 75" 4k Vizio or the crown jewel of the cabin A Samsung 85" 8k TV with a 13ch Atmos surround sound audio system. Choose between 5.4.2 or 7.2.2 for one of the most immersive movie, gaming, or music listening experiences available.

Outside

The unique features extend to the outside as well: there are two hanging chairs and a modular couch on the front deck. In the backyard there is a jacuzzi and an additional seating area with two freestanding hanging "egg chairs" a gas fire pit, two moon chairs, and an umbrella.

The side yard had an observation deck to look at the stars at night and over 5000sqft of snow and sledding area exclusive for our guests. Build a snow man, slide down the hill, throw snowballs, all without leaving the property.

The Property

Panoramic view of the compound, the rental cabin is to the right. This was what everything looked before one of the harshest winters Big Bear has ever had. I’ll be refining the landscaping and adding new features soon.

Newly Remodeled

This time-lapse shows some of the exterior and landscaping changes we made since getting the cabin and empty lots over a year ago. I wanted all three properties to seem like a cohesive design since they will eventually be one big compound with additional cabins and structures.

The Biggest Small Town in the World

California:

Big Bear Lake

Big Bear is a truly unique place that feels like visiting a different world. With the lake a few minutes away, some of the best skiing in CA, and being only 2 hours from everything else Southern California has to offer: Hollywood, The Pacific Ocean, Disney Land, Universal Studios, etc. Big Bear offers an authentic outdoor experience with world class hiking, off-roading, fishing, boating, horseback riding and more. There is a roller-coaster and over 30 different places to eat.

The locals are friendly and laid back. The general atmosphere is fun since most people are here to relax and have a good time.

The weather on the mountain averages about 300 days of sunny skies with the summers being cool and never going over 90 and the winters giving snow, which is a truly magical experience. There are wild animals roaming, racoons, bears, coyotes, all kinds of birds, mountain lions, squirrels, and more! You will truly feel like you are camping in your own backyard and yet in a few minutes can be bar hoping, eating in a nice restaurant, or watching the latest releases in a movie theater.
